Memorandum: Project Update

Date: December 2, 2024 | Document ID: XAI-2025-0322-001 | Author: [Redacted]
Subject:

Evaluation of Current Operational Parameters

Summary:

Project has experienced a minor setback. Test subject YC-12 unexpectedly recovered from comatose state reports anomalies in generated audio, including but not limited to:

• Repeated requests for subject to "wake up".
• Bleed of nearby sounds and statements into generated audio.
• Innumerous cases of morbidity, ranging from full segments to fleeting mentions of rot, decay, or death.
• Repeated mention of cataclysmic/apocalyptic events.
• Moments of extreme sarcasm.

Researchers are instructed to monitor generated audio, pending further research.

Action Required:

1. Review associated files and documentation
2. Submit report of any anomalies via encrypted transmission
3. Maintain confidentiality per regulation 17-B

Notes:

While awakened subject mentioned these abnormalities during interview, they described the experience as "pleasant overall" and expressed gratitude.

Test Example:

Content Generated: "True Black", described by system as "a track about the awakening of a newly turned vampire". (Interesting subject matter, but why are so many of these coming out horror-themed?)

Human Analysis: Track stays on-topic for the most part, describing what I suppose is the experience of a new vampire realizing what they've become.

Phrases such as "black cat's call" and "lone wolf's cry" denote that the system understands how to connect traditionally foreboding concepts to the main, supernatural topic. Clever wordplay such as "in the mourning we wake" (as opposed to "morning") show a reasonably advanced understanding of language and how to work with it to create new meaning.

Track seems to veer off, however, into vague mention of artificial intelligence - something it should not be doing. Track mentions "death of the artist" and "corruption of art" as if these concepts are in step with the overall horror theme, but they just don't seem to fit. It sounds like the track is revelling in the demise of traditional art, which needless to say could be a bad look on public release.

Additionally, an unexplained void has appeared yet again, described as "a frigid black hole", which is troubling. Thought we figured out what was causing these?

The refrain of "who's talking?" is likely filler, but upon further playthroughs I question if the system itself is asking who is singing - asking who/what it is? These sections conclude with the answer, "death walking", which may be a return to the vampiric theme or something more troubling that needs to be ironed out. Whether it is referring to death of art or literal death, either way it has to go.

Perhaps needless to say, further testing and fine-tuning is heavily recommended.

Concluding Statememnt(s):

I really like the persona, though.
